We will not crumble vows Jarvis

2:00pm Thu 11th Mar 10:: written by Charles Watts

Burnham boss Jamie Jarvis insists being top of the table will not affect the way his side performs.

The Blues have strung together a 10 game unbeaten run with last night’s 2-1 win at Aylesbury moving them six points clear of second placed Hitchin.

And despite playing catch up for most of the season Jarvis says his side can handle the pressure of now being top.

He said: “It doesn’t change a thing, if anything it puts more pressure on Hitchin.

“We’re in the driving seat, we’ve got the points.

“If you’re top of the table at this stage of the season then it’s great.

“If we don’t lose another game then we win the title - that’s how I look at it.”

Jarvis added: “Everybody here wants to win the league.

“The main aim before the season was the play-off but being where we are now the lads want to win it.”

Burnham host AFC Sudbury on Saturday before visiting lowly Barton Rovers on Tuesday night.

The Blues will have Adrian Sear back from suspension for both games while Terry O’Connor is expected to shake off a foot injury.

They will also be boosted by the addition of midfielder Trevor Charlery from Beaconsfield Sycob after Jarvis swooped for him this week.
