Sugar causes criminal damage to cars

Two motorists were left with hefty bills for car repairs after yobs put sugar into their fuel tanks.

The offenders struck sometime between 3am and 4.40am last Friday after forcing open the fuel caps of two cars in Langley - one in Trelewney Avenue and the other in Warren Close.

The sugar caused internal damage to both vehicles which had to be repaired.

Officers arrived at the scene after a member of the public reported three men acting suspiciously in Trelawney Avenue at about 4.20am.

They carried out a search of the area but were unable to find the men.
