Shop staff threatened with hammer

Staff were threatened with a hammer in a robbery at a Maidenhead store on Saturday evening.

At about 7.40pm, two men, one armed with a hammer, went into Best One in Altwood Road and threatened staff and stole cash from the till.

The hammer was used to smash the shop window and they ran off in the direction of Altwood School.

Police are calling on witnesses or anyone with information to come forwards.

The men are both white and described as 5ft 10ins and slim.

One is aged between 18 and 23 and was wearing a white hooded top with black piping on the sleeves and hood, black sports trousers with red stripes, a black balaclava and black gloves.

The other is aged between 18 and 20 and was wearing black trousers with white stripes on the sides, a grey jacket, a balaclava and gloves.
